new room

This weekend we decided to do a makeover to Eric's room. We also got new sheets for our bed and we cleaned out our big closet to make room for toys. So it was out with the old an in with the new! It wasn't easy to get all of this done with the little guy wanting to play and help all day but we managed! Here's the beginning, bye bye crib, hello bed! Eric was busy coloring while we re-arranged his room. Unfortunately nap time wasn't happening in the new bed because we hadn't gotten his new sheets yet. So him and I were sitting on the kitchen floor snuggling and he passed right out on me

But once we got his Lightning McQueen sheets on he was very excited! We also got him matching pajamas so in an attempt to make it even more exciting.

Thankfully because he had no nap he was exhausted and went right to sleep in his bed (arms up over his head of course!

In the morning Eric and I woke up early anticipating him coming running in our room to wake us up in the morning. All we heard instead was "mama? Mama!" I told him he could get out of his bed and he response was , "oh!" and then he came running into our room.

So here's the almost finished product with a few minor touches left.

Ignore the gigantic boom box in the background (I've had that since I was like 7!). One of the additions will be a new radio because he loves listening to music.

Here is the cute little table we found. The middle of it comes out and we have his coloring books stored in it.

We hung his stuffed animal hammock on the wall and his wall hanging that my gramma made. We also got those new toy bins and most of his toys are now in his room. He's not sure what to do about them and at one point starting bringing all of his toys back into the living room because he was confused but he'll catch on!

Over the rocking chair is the Lightning McQueen quilt my gramma made and he finally has curtains in his room.
